Hope Restored

“Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth and cry aloud, you who have no labor pains, because more are the children of the desolate woman than of her who has a husband.”

Galatians 4:27

So, I received this message about a couple weeks back. Our pastor shared this message with our congregation, and I think he was going somewhere else with the material, but it actually hit me to the core. The way he explained this verse was just so assuring. I never looked at it that way or thought of it in that way. “Be glad, O barren woman, who bears no children; break forth & cry aloud, you who have no labor pains, because more are the children of the desolate (deserted, lonely, etc) than of her who has a husband.”

What it means is that we women, who are lonely, & feel deserted. Who are barren & in pain. If we can seek God in all of this, if we can find joy & peace in Him & trust that He has great plans for us that He WILL fulfill, He will bless us abundantly. “…more are the children of the desolate…” if we seek our Father in Heaven as much as we “ttc” (tried to conceive, through faith, our Lord WILL bless us in ways we’ve never thought/known of. “…than of her who has a husband..” With God on our side, all will be in order. If all we do is rely on our own strength, how are we supposed to be blessed?

“Sometimes in life, you feel like God takes you down a path & all of a sudden, there’s a detour. Remember, it is NOT a detour, it IS the path He has for you. He has great things planned for you. You just need a little patience, perspective & faith. He loves you.”

I know its hard to accept it. But things really do happen for a reason, because our Lord is a loving God. He wants only the best for His children. Don’t assume that He is torturing or punishing you for something you did. No. If anything, maybe its not the right time yet, & He knows it. Maybe, God wants you to love those who don’t have parents (fostering/adoption). Or maybe you are going through all this so you can someday help someone else who is going through exactly the same thing you are. Think about it. Be open to His will & His plans.

Rely on only our Father & not our husbands or doctors, because they can fail to make us happy (at times). Our Creator knows us inside & out. He knows what we desire & what we dislike. Trust in Him & He will bless you. Have faith in Him. That He can bless you more than you will ever expect. When we have a faith this strong, doubt will never reign in our hearts. Don’t let this infertility disease eat you alive. Cause if you do give in to it, the only thing you’ll be experiencing is depression, exhaustion, ashamed, & humiliation. And all this & more, will take over your lives, and you’ll soon miss out on all the great things that He has put in your life. Whether it be a child or not.

Now, I know what you might be thinking. How can I have so much faith? How can I trust that God will bless me with a child, when all I’ve been doing is pray that He will give me a child?

You know,  we are just human being. We fall into desperation & disappointments too often. But you see, that’s just it, how else are we supposed to enjoy life if all we do is dwell on the bad, when most of the time, all the goodness that surrounds us pretty much over rules the bad. Please take a step back & look at what the Lord has already blessed you with. I know its hard. As I am writing this to you, I too, am encouraging myself. It’s not easy. No one said it would be. But just know that as long as you have Jesus on your side, all things really ARE possible! He is with you through all of it. He just wants to see how much you trust in Him.

Find close friends & family that will really support you & understand you. Will lift you up in their prayers &  tell you the right things you want/need to hear. These people are truly the angels that the Lord has blessed us with.

Remember that God answers our prayers, but only in His timing. Not OURS! You may feel as if you’ve been praying & trying for years, but have faith & hope. He will answer you in the right time.

So let me leave you with this encouragement. That you may be uplifted in this day & time. That you will understand that when you come to Him & surrender everything to Him, & let Him take care of everything in your life, you will find peace & joy.

“Do not be afraid; you will not suffer shame.

Do not fear disgrace; you will not be humiliated.

You will forget the shame of your youth & remember no more the reproach of your widowhood (loneliness, barrenness)

For your maker is your husband- the LORD ALMIGHTY is his name-

the HOLY ONE of Israel is your Redeemer; he is called the God of all the earth.

The Lord will call you back as if you were a wife deserted and distressed in spirit- a wife

who married young only to be rejected.” says your God. “For a brief moment I abandoned

you, but with deep compassion I will bring you back.

Isaiah 54:4-7
