National Human Trafficking Awareness Day

Today is National Human Trafficking Awareness Day. This is an issue. A BIG one at that. Over and over again, we see what is happening. We see this & we think, well? What can I do? I'm only one  person.

Human trafficking is becoming more and more the case for men, women, & even children.
27 MILLION.
That's the number of people that are trapped in slavery. Now more than ever, we are seeing that slavery is as real as it was before the Civil War. We may have passed laws in supposedly "securing" freedom for those enchained, but this is not the case any more. Whether within the US or not, this industry has multiplied over the course of the past few years more than ever.

From the things we consume, purchase, wear, and eat to porn, & buying sex. All these things link back to men, women, and children in slavery. There are sweatshops around the world with children sewing your clothes. Women forced to sell their bodies on the streets because their families sold them to pimps. Men slaving in the fields for less than a dollar a day to provide for their families.

When did we become so conformed & comfortable with these true factors in mind? You & I may be just one person in the eyes of the world. But to one person, we can be their world. We can change one person's soul. We can be a part of a movement that ends this reality. We can be a part of transforming their present reality into hope. Into a better future.

No more sitting back & waiting for "someone else" to do it. No more families need to suffer for our comfort. Have we become so accepting of the fact that blood, sweat, and integrity is being bought at a price? How can we dehumanize another person?

It's time that you & I do something. Even if its just something small. We can make a difference. Our bodies and soul cannot be estimated in a tangible price. If we deserve a better future, doesn't every one else deserve that too?

Linked below are organizations that I've followed for a few years now. Please take the time to click & browse through each of them. Find out now how you can bring light on this issue. Repost the picture above on your social media & challenge 27 of your friends to do the same. It's amazing how little we can sacrifice for the greater good.

Use #humantrafficking and #A21 and share these facts: Over 27 million people are enslaved around the world, only 1-2% of victims are ever rescued, and the average age of a victim is 12 years old. Another fact? Together, we can change this.

TOGETHER, WE CAN DO THIS.
