A Surprise Anniversary Adventure

2 weeks ago we were asked to reserve Saturday the 27th of February for a special day. We weren't sure what was in store for us but were excited nonetheless! We love adventures! We kept trying to put all the puzzle pieces together to find out what the plans were but we were refrained from doing so. Therefore, we patiently waited for the day to arrive & then we got ready & set off for our destination! We were instructed to find our way to a beautiful place nearby called Gales Creek. We drove off with nothing but warm clothes and a few camping chairs, anxious to see what we would be arriving to. Scroll down to see pictures from our adventure! Huge thanks to a couple that we look up to & are so blessed to have in our lives. They truly model a Godly marriage & encourage us to constantly keep Christ at the center of ours as well. They challenge us & build us up in more ways than one. We're forever grateful for your love, sacrifice, hard work, & dedication to being intentional Christ followers. And being such great role models to us. We know it was not easy to pull off something like this, but we are thankful for this day that you both worked so hard to coordinate & plan just for the two of us. Thanks for investing in us! God Bless you both for all that you do for us & all the couples that God has entrusted in your care. We know that God is doing something great through you both! We're just so blessed we get to be a part of it as well! We love you guys!

A Continuous Transformation

My story started about 4 years ago. With PCOS  , I had gained weight and at the time, it seemed like the darkest days I'd ever experienced. I was depressed, discouraged, & insecure. PCOS had brought me to a place of complete misery. Not only did I not feel good internally, but externally, I couldn't even stand the sight of myself. I went from a size 0/1 on the day of my wedding, and in 4-6 short months, I had shot up to an 8/9. Spring 2007              Winter 2015 Everyone around me noticed it too. But they were just "being nice." Complimenting at the assumption that I must be so happy after I got married that I didn't care about my body or weight anymore. That wasn't the case. My eating habits didn't change. Yet I had gained massive weight in such a short time. Little did I know at that time that PCOS had crept up on me. My Word for 2016: JoyFull

4 years ago, I stopped making resolutions. Like many other bloggers, I learned that resolutions were just a plan for failure. I'd make vague goals that were a bit impossible & before even hitting the summer, I'd give up on them. Lose weight, be a better ministry leader, read the Bible, and so on & so forth. What I've recently learned is that change doesn't just happen overnight. It takes baby steps. Dreams don't come true if we don't turn them into goals. Goals aren't reached if we don't set deadlines.  2015 was a great year. A year of challenges, change, &  transformation. I love that with a new year, comes a fresh start for you to create who you want to become. A time to self evaluate and let go of bad habits & make room for improvement on a greater version of ourselves. I've thought it through, & I choose to make 2016 " JoyFull.
